ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) — Police say a 16-year-old boy has died after a shooting in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County.
A 14-year-old boy was also shot and injured, and is in stable condition.
Police identified the boy who died as Kevin Johnson of Pembrook Village Drive, where the shooting occurred.
Fairfax County police say the shooting occurred Monday night. The investigation is ongoing, but police say an 18-year-old fired the weapon that struck the two boys. The victims and the 18-year-old all knew each other.
No charges have been announced, and police said the investigation is ongoing. Police spokesman Eddy Azcarate said there is no public safety threat.
