The 10 Best series highlights the best things to do in the top cities around the world. The Traditional Thai Puppet Theater was founded by Sakorn Yangkhiawsod, known as Joe Louis, the last Grand master of the art. There are 3 types of theatrical styles which involve dancing and singing and are comparable in style and form to the 18th century ballet performed at Versailles. Each puppet is controlled by 3 puppeteers who perform on stage in synchronization with the puppet. The Joe Louis Theater remains the true guardian of this vanishing art form. Hosted by Sunida Thirasak, a Bangkok native who presently lives in New York.
