President Obama is poised for a tiny reelection victory, when the results of 13 key academic election models are averaged. Of the 13, eight predict an outright win, with the average over the 13 showing a projected vote of 50.2 percent.

The University of Virginia's Center for Politics provided a sneak peak at an upcoming review of the predictions in 13 key election models that are due to be released in the October edition of "PS: Political Science & Politics," the journal of the American Political Science Association.

Obama's vote total among the 13 ranges from a high of 53.7 percent to a low of 46.9 percent. In 2008, he received 53.7 of the vote.

While not predicting the fall winner, Larry Sabato's political outfit at U. Va. seems to be leaning to Obama, noting that two predictors they value most show the president winning with either 50.6 percent of the vote or 51.3 percent.
