ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — More than 200 farms across New York will be aided by $13.8 million in state grants designed to protect soil and water.

The competitive grants from the state's Department of Agriculture and Markets and Soil and Water Conservation Committee went to 32 county soil and water conservation districts statewide.

The county districts will use the money to address water quality issues on farms in priority watersheds. The districts will work with farmers on things like barnyard runoff, pasture management and soil health management.
