Baltimore County police have charged a 15-year-old boy as an adult in a shooting at Perry Hall High School, officials said this morning.

Robert Wayne Gladden Jr. has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault.

According to a criminal complaint, Gladden allegedly brought a shotgun into the cafeteria on the first day of classes at Perry Hall and fired, striking fellow student Daniel Borowy in the back. Staffers confronted Gladden and he allegedly fired another shot into the ceiling, according to the complaint. A school resource officer managed to disarm him and place him under arrest, according to the complaint.

Gladden is currently being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center, police said.
