2 dead, 4 hurt in Virginia Beach fire

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — Virginia Beach firefighters say a house fire that killed two people and injured three others is being described as accidental.

Media outlets report four women were in the two-story home when the fire broke out Friday night.

The bodies of two people were pulled from the home and officials were trying to determine their identifications Saturday.

Virginia Beach Fire Department spokesman Mike Barakey says a third person from the home was taken to a hospital in critical condition for burns, while another person who was injured declined medical treatment.

Two firefighters were treated for leg burns at a hospital and released.

Investigators say they believe the fire started on the home's first floor around a fireplace.
