2012 was best year ever for Broadway

12.3 million: Number of Broadway show tickets that were sold this year for more than $1.14 billion in sales. This makes 2012 the best year ever for the New York theater scene. Tourists account for 63.4 percent of all Broadway attendance and 67 percent of audiences were female.
