LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Officials say pollution at three demolished Lansing-area General Motors facilities could be cleaned up starting next year.

The Lansing State Journal reports (http://on.lsj.com/1jgd5lM ) the Revitalizing Auto Communities Environmental Response Trust sent additional information about contamination to state environmental regulators. A community meeting is Tuesday.

The RACER Trust took over sites around the country left behind in General Motors' bankruptcy.

The trust holds the former Fisher Body plant site in Lansing, as well as the razed Lansing Craft Centre and Lansing Metal Center in Lansing Township. It has an industrial site in Delta Township that once housed an engine plant and has no known contamination problems.

The Lansing Board of Water & Light is considering part of the Fisher Body and Lansing Metal Center sites for a solar power project.
