$400,000 in appliances stolen from new Maryland homes, police say

Prince George's County police are investigating the theft of $400,000 in appliances from of home construction sites, and they are asking the public to help identify a vehicle used in the burglaries.

Police say the vehicle, a dark colored 1998 Chevy Tahoe or Suburban with Maryland tags 7AYOOO, is linked to at least 25 burglaries since December, most recently Monday in the 17000 block of Fernwood Drive in Capitol Heights.

Also targeted have been homes in Upper Marlboro and Bowie, usually between the hours of 11 p.m. and 4 a.m.

About $400,000 worth of refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers and other new appliances have been stolen.

Anyone who has seen this vehicle or has information about these burglaries is urged to call police at (301) 390-2160.
