SPRINGFIELD, Va. (AP) — State police say six people inside a sport-utility vehicle suffered only minor injuries after it ran off the right side of Interstate 95 in Springfield and overturned in a ditch.
Police say a 7-year-old girl was ejected from the Ford Expedition and trapped underneath it following the crash early Sunday morning. But she wasn't seriously hurt and was able to crawl out of the ditch under her own power after the vehicle was removed. She did not require hospitalization.
Police say the vehicle collided with another car that left the scene. Police say they have no description of that vehicle.
The driver and five other passengers also suffered minor injuries in the crash, which occurred shortly after 5:30 Sunday morning in the southbound lanes.
