71-year-old Capitol Heights woman murdered

Officers found a 71-year-old Capitol Heights woman with "trauma to the body" Saturday. She was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.

The Prince George's County Police Department has released a description of a potential suspect in the murder of Geraldine Joyce McIntyre. The suspect is a black male between 30 and 45 years old and 5-foot-7-inches to 5-foot-9-inches tall with a slim build and a dark complexion. Officials believe he may have been wearing a dark brown or black leather jacket, black skull cap and black pants.

McIntyre lived on the 1200 block of Chapel Oaks Drive in Capitol Heights.

The police are actively soliciting information pertaining to the murder. Anyone with information is asked to call the Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925.
