PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Gas prices in Rhode Island have fallen 2 cents from last week, but the current price remains well above the national average.
AAA Southern New England said in its weekly price survey Monday that the average cost of a gallon of self-serve regular in the state is $3.48.
Prices locally are down 6 cents from a month ago. But the current Rhode Island price is 20 cents higher than the national per-gallon average of $3.28. Rhode Islanders were paying 6 cents more per gallon a year ago.
The AAA survey found a 29-cent price range, from a low of $3.30 a gallon to a high of $3.59 a gallon.
