On CNN’s Piers Morgan show last night, actress Stacy Dash defended her choice to support Mitt Romney, after she came under heavy fire on Twitter for her endorsement.

“I just feel that, you know, as a country, this is my choice. this is the man I want to lead my country,” Dash explained. “It is my right as an American citizen. It’s my constitutional right to have my choice of who I want to vote for for president.”

“I chose him not by the color of his skin but the content of his character.” she added, paraphrasing Martin Luther King.

Actor Samuel Jackson weighed in on Dash’s endorsement suggesting that she was crazy.

“Wait, did Stacey Dash Really endorse Romney today?!” he posted on Twitter. “REALLY????! Is she CRA………..??!”

Dash revealed that Paul Ryan contacted her to thank her for her support.

“I thought that was just so generous and kind, you know,” she said. “Lovely, really.”
