Democratic Indiana Rep. André Carson presided over a classified briefing Wednesday regarding “unidentified aerial phenomena” ahead of the released report from the Director of National Intelligence on the U.S. government’s gathered information on UFOs.
U.S. government officials have shown a heightened interest in investigating military footage and images showing flying objects, confirmed to be legitimate footage by the Department of Defense, over what the objects are and whether they belong to a foreign government — or perhaps even parts more unknown.
“Do UAPs have links to our foreign adversaries? Do UAPs pose a threat? And how do we gather information and analyze it to respond to these key questions? The answers are important to our national security. The Intelligence Community and scientists share professions that search for the truth, by gathering information from diverse sources and methods and conducting rigorous analysis with objectivity and integrity,” Carson said in a prepared address sent to the Washington Examiner.
The briefing Wednesday was conducted by officials from the U.S. Navy and the FBI, while Carson presided as chairman among the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the Subcommittee on Counterterrorism, Counterintelligence, and Counterproliferation.

Congress has mandated the DNI to release the report to the public, which is slated to be presented on June 25.
The anticipation surrounding the briefing has been amplified by recently leaked footage confirmed by the Pentagon showing aerial phenomena allegedly moving at high velocities against strong wind shears, including orb-like objects witnessed by military personnel splashing into the Pacific Ocean and disappearing from sight and radar systems.

Officials who claim to have seen the DNI report said it found no evidence of alien technology, according to the New York Times. However, the government report is said to confirm the United States cannot rule out aliens or foreign governments are behind more than 100 alleged UFO sightings.

The report also confirmed the objects are not U.S. technology, mostly ruling out the theory UAPs are secret U.S. military projects, according to officials with information on the matter.
