YORKTOWN, Va. (AP) — The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation is awarding a $9.4 million contract to develop permanent exhibits for the future American Revolution Museum at Yorktown.

The Virginia state agency that operates Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center says the exhibits will be fabricated and installed by Design and Production Inc.

The 65-year-old Lorton-based firm has been involved with National September 11 Memorial Museum, four presidential libraries and museums, and the National Museum of the Marine Corps.

Design and Production Inc. also had fabricated exhibits for the Jamestown Settlement galleries that opened in 2006.

Officials say the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown is under construction and is expected to open in late 2016. It is replacing the Yorktown Victory Center.

The 22,000-square-feet of permanent gallery space will be located in the 80,000-square-foot museum building.
