Democratic Kansas governor Kathleen Sebelius thinks Guantanamo should be closed but says she doesn’t want detainees in Ft. Leavenworth. The proposal to send the detainees to Charleston is meeting equally stiff opposition from South Carolina legislators–but at least they favor keeping Gitmo open and aren’t trying to make these terrorists someone else’s problem. Isn’t there one Democrat who will stand up and save his or her party from its staggering hypocrisy? Perhaps Speaker Pelosi should volunteer her district. San Francisco might not yet have a proper facility to hold these terrorists, but, as Allahpundit suggested, the construction of a new prison might be a good job for Obama’s new W.P.A.
