CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — There's everything from barbecue and brews to wine and cooking demonstrations as the BB&T Charleston Wine and Food Festival opens for another season in Charleston.

The four-day event opens Thursday with a luncheon and a party saluting Charleston chefs.

The center of the festival is the Culinary Village in Marion Square, where tents are set up for everything from food tastings to cooking demonstrations. There are also outdoor drilling demonstrations.

At the village, more than 85 food and beverage vendors from around the nation will be offering their products for sampling.

This year's festival is teaming up with the Southern Foodways Alliance based at the University of Mississippi. Both the festival and the alliance work to celebrate Southern food.
