OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — The San Francisco homeless charity that benefits from the annual auction of a private lunch with Warren Buffett hopes another buyer will pay more than $1 million for the privilege this year.

Already, Buffett has raised roughly $16 million for the Glide Foundation over the past 14 years. This year's online auction starts Sunday and runs through Friday evening.

Last year's winner got a relative bargain by paying $1,000,100. Four of the previous five winners each paid over $2 million, and the 2012 winning bid of $3,456,789 remains the most expensive charity item ever sold on eBay.

Buffett says he's not sure why people pay so much, but he tries to answer whatever questions they have. And he says it helps that the money supports a great cause.
