A 32-year-old woman was groped in Springfield on Tuesday in an incident that may be the 22nd reported attack committed by one man, police officials said.

The victim in Tuesday's attack was grabbed from behind at about 7 p.m., when she was putting luggage into the trunk of her car in the 6400 block of Franconia Court, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

The woman described her attacker as a white man in his 20s who is about 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a white ballcap.

This assault could be the 22nd attack in the Springfield area connected to a serial groper. The first reported attack occurred in September.

In many of the attacks, the groper has been seen wearing a baseball hat. He has also been frequently described as Hispanic.
