AP appoints Nealy to Annapolis, Md., staff

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — The Associated Press has named Michelle Janaye Nealy, a member of the staff of AP's Central region editing desk, to a temporary legislative relief position in Annapolis, Md.

Nealy has been an editorial assistant on the Central desk in Chicago. In her new role, starting Feb. 4, she will cover the Maryland General Assembly session, as well as state government and politics.

Her appointment was announced Tuesday by South Region Editor Lisa Marie Pane and Mid-Atlantic News Editor Amanda Kell.

Nealy earned a bachelor's degree from Howard University in Washington and a master's degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.
