The White House confirmed moments ago that Apple CEO Tim Cook will join First Lady Michelle Obama for the President’s State of the Union address.

The White House praises Cook for playing “a key role in the continued development of strategic reseller and supplier relationships, ensuring flexibility in response to an increasingly demanding marketplace.”

According to the Federal Elections Commission, Cook donated $2,300 to President Obama's 2008 campaign.

Obama also spoke with Cook in November 2012 about the so-called "fiscal cliff."
