DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) — Michigan's Arab American National Museum has announced the artists, activists and scholars expected to participate in its biennial arts forum.

The Dearborn museum's DIWAN5: A Forum for the Arts includes Arab American Book Award-winning actor Suheir Hammad, and visual artists John Halaka and Reem Gibriel.

Topics to be addressed at the April 5-6 forum include the effect of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on Arab American art and artists' response to the Arab uprisings.

A DIWAN-themed exhibition also is scheduled to run in the museum's lower level gallery from March 15-Aug. 30.
