A man was stabbed following an argument in Adams Morgan early Sunday morning, D.C. police report.

The victim was found conscious and breathing on the 2300 block of 18th Street Northwest -- between Kalorama Road and Belmont Road -- at about 2:15 a.m., according to police spokesman Officer Anthony Clay.

The victim told police he was stabbed after getting into a "verbal altercation" with an unknown black man, Clay said.

The suspect, who has not been arrested, was described as 5-foot-9-inches, weighing 140 pounds, with a dark complexion and braids and wearing dark clothing.
