Authorities in Fauquier County have announced an arrest in a 32-year-old cold case murder of an employee of a wealthy estate in western Virginia.

Prosecutors said Ronald Cloud shot and killed Brad Baker on a snowy 1980 New Year's Eve after Baker fired Cloud's stepfather earlier that day.

Police recently reopened the case, and Cloud confessed to traveling to Baker's home in anger. Police believe Baker shot first but missed. Baker was found with shots to his head and groin.

Cloud, now 64, is serving a life sentence in West Virginia for kidnapping, beating, chaining and sexually assaulting a woman who worked with him at a manufacturing plant in Winchester, Va.
