More than two years after a Falls Church teen was found stabbed to death inside her car, police have made an arrest in the case.

Julio Miguel Blanco-Garcia, 27, was arrested Thursday and charged with the murder of 19-year-old Vanessa Pham, Fairfax County police said. Pham was a graduate of James Madison High School and had just finished her freshman year at Savannah College of Art and Design when she was killed.

On June 27, 2010, police found Pham dead inside her crashed 2008 Toyota in a ditch near Arlington Boulevard and Williams Drive. Surveillance video showed her car leaving the nearby Fairfax Plaza Shopping Center shortly before her body was discovered.

Detectives were able to link Blanco-Garcia to the slaying through forensic evidence, and police do not believe that Blanco-Garcia and Pham knew each other.
