The American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees, an arm of the AFL-CIO, has bought $800,000 worth of television time to run the above ad attacking Mitt Romney's tenure at Bain. The ad will run throughout the state of Florida through the primary on January 31st.

The ad echoes Newt Gingrich's attack on Romney's career at Bain, but focuses on a company, Damon Corp., not mentioned in Gingrich's earlier attacks. From the ad:

What kind of businessman is Mitt Romney? While Romney was a director of the Damon Corporation, the company was defrauding Medicare of millions. Prosecutors called it corporate greed run amok. The company was fined $100 million. But Romney himself, made a fortune. Corporate greed. Medicare fraud. Sound familiar?

The end of the ad has Romney's face morph into Florida Gov. Rick Scott, who also was involved with a company that defrauded Medicare. Neither Scott, nor Romney, was ever implicated in any wrongdoing.
