If President Obama and his party haven't turned you into Republican, then Match.com has an even better reason: The sex is orgasmic.
In a study of over 5,000 singles, the dating site tells us that 53 percent of single conservative Republicans achieved orgasm during sex, more than singles of any other party. Pity single liberal Democrats: Only 40 percent reached it.
But they get "it" more than the Republicans. Match.com says that single conservative Republicans had the least sex in the last year than any other group. And they were the group mostly likely to have never had sex. Bottom line: When they have sex, it's good.
Yet despite all the sex, the singles of all sides said they don't want their president messing around. Big majorities of men and women said fidelity is mandated in presidents.
Other details from Match.com:
-- Republican and Democratic singles seek dramatically different traits in a partner. Liberal Democrats are more likely to search for someone with a sense of humor, similar lifestyle to their own, a sense of independence and someone whom they consider to be their equal. Republicans really are conservative when it comes to choosing a partner; they’re searching for someone with the same background and political party as their own who is interested in marriage.
-- Fidelity is regarded as a more important quality in the U.S. president than in a partner. 62% of men and 80% of women say sexual fidelity in a relationship is a “must have.” But almost 9 out of 10 respondents believe there are “no acceptable excuses” for infidelity in a political candidate (87% of men and 91% of women).
-- Democrats and Republicans find sex most satisfying at very different stages of their relationships. Conservative Republicans were significantly more likely (40%) than other groups to be very satisfied with sex while they’re married, while More Liberal Democrats are very satisfied with sex in a committed unmarried relationship (48%) and while living together (36%). More Libertarians are satisfied with sex during a casual hook-up (46%) and more Independents with sex on a first date (43%).
-- Singles are not likely to change their political views prior to the election. Close to half of all singles (46%) say their political views have not changed in the last 10 years—including men and women of all major ethnic backgrounds (Blacks, Whites, Asians, Latinos: Range 42-54%) and those of different sexual orientations (straight: 46%, gay men: 44%, lesbians: 35%). Political views have been traced to biological underpinnings, and the Match.com data support the biological basis of political orientation.
-- Democrats and Libertarians are having more one night stands than conservatives. While a majority of all singles admitted to having had a one night stand, Liberal Democrats (65%) and Libertarians (66%) reported had more one night stands than Conservative Republicans (49%) who had the least.
-- The economy is stressing out singles, but it’s NOT affecting their dating lives. While economy concerns rank as the number-one source of stress in singles’ lives, 60% say that it has not changed their dating habits. And over 40% of those surveyed would date someone who was unemployed if they were already interested in that person.
