During a press conference this afternoon, a reporter asked Canadian Prime Minister Harper, Mexican President Felipe Calderon and President Obama if they would comment on Mitt Romney's comments about American exceptionalism.

The reporter quoted Romney, who said last week that Obama, "doesn't have the same feelings about American exceptionalism that we do."

"It's worth noting that  I first arrived on the national stage with a speech at the Democratic convention was entirely about on American exceptionalsim, and that my entire career has been a testimony of American exceptionalism," President Obama said shortly. "But I will cut some folks some slack for now because they are still trying to win their nomination."
