The State Department press briefing quickly grew awkward yesterday on 'Bring your Child to Work' day, as journalists grilled spokeswoman Victoria Nuland for more details regarding the Secret Service prostitute scandals.

One reporter, after acknowledging that the audience in the room was "a bit different," questioned Nuland about reports of Secret Service employees "hiring strippers and prostitutes" in El Salvador, as well as the "events in Brazil."

Nuland responded by asserting that all foreign employees were prohibited from "frequenting prostitutes and engaging in public or promiscuous sexual relations."

“What a subject to be talking about on 'Bring your kid to work day.'” Nuland said apologetically.

The reporter from CBS, explained that he was trying to keep the conversation "down to a G rating."

"Parents, you can explain all of this later," Nuland replied, as the reporters in the room chuckled. "You can take it up with CBS News as well."
