A frustrated Jake Tapper, clearly weary of the president's 'evolving' position on gay marriage, tackled the question again at the White House press briefing today.

"Why not just come out and say it and let voters decide?" Tapper asked White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, noting that it "seemed obvious" that Obama was waiting to announce his support for gay marriage until after the election.

"It seems cynical to hide this until after the election," Tapper added.

Carney repeated that he had no news on Obama's views on gay marriage.

"It is as it was," Carney said shortly.
