Top Virginia leaders to participate in CPAC

Virginia will be well represented at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference in D.C. later this month, a forum that includes presidential candidates, governors and some of the most prominent voices in the conservative movement.

  • Gov. Bob McDonnell will address the crowd Feb. 10 a day after Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is scheduled to receive the defender of the Constitution Award, presented by the National Rifle Association.

    Former Virginia governor and U.S. Senate candidate George Allen is slated to speak Feb. 10 at a student luncheon sponsored by Young America’s Foundation. Virginia Beach City Councilman Robert Dyer will join a panel discussion on the future of conservative education.

    On Feb. 9, the conference's opening day, former Gov. Jim Gilmore will debate whether the Arab Spring is good for America.

    The three-day gathering of conservative movers and shakers ends Feb. 11.
