A ringing endorsement for Blatche?

Juwan Howard and Eddy Curry essentially were charity cases last year; both were dragged along to an NBA title by the Miami Heat. The most either played all season was in a meaningless regular-season finale loss to the Wizards.

LeBron James' potential backup big men next season could be similarly unremarkable on the court but much more intriguing off it, particularly if the Heat land one of three recent amnesty victims. Should Darko Milicic find a way to South Beach, it would be the culmination of the biggest boondoggle of an NBA career in history. Chris Andersen would add plenty of ink and maybe a blocked shot or two.

After clearing waivers following his unceremonious departure from Washington, Andray Blatche also has been mentioned. Should he be granted the chance to resuscitate his career in Miami -- where he already has a penthouse -- the boos he faced when he wore the Wizards uniform would be certain to increase exponentially the next time he visits Verizon Center. At least he wouldn't be alone in hearing them.
