The end of the Big East as we know it will be televised.

For the first time, ESPN's "College GameDay" will descend upon Verizon Center for the regular-season finale between Georgetown and Syracuse on March 9. With an arena full of students -- assuming they're back from spring break (classes resume March ?11) -- the show starts at 10 a.m. The Hoyas and Orange tip-off at noon.

Next season will be the last in the Big East for Syracuse, which will depart for the ACC in 2013. The Orange have taken the last two meetings with the Hoyas in Washington. The teams only met once last season -- in Syracuse, where Georgetown fell in overtime 64-61.

But Georgetown owns the biggest recent win in a game with more than bragging rights on the line, a 91-84 victory in the 2010 Big East quarterfinals. After the game in March, Madison Square Garden could be where the Orange and Hoyas meet for the final time as the Big East's fiercest rivals.
