Sunday is Rock Creek Park Trail Safety Day, a day of outreach by the National Park Service to the visitors of the multiuse trail that runs through the heart of Washington. Rangers and volunteers will be on hand to share safety tips, answer questions and receive comments. Activities will include safety displays, discussions and materials. Giveaways include stickers, reflective safety bracelets and bicycle bells. Free bike helmets will be available to the first 40 youth to arrive. The event runs from 9 a.m. until noon at the Rock Creek Park Exercise Course, Rock Creek Parkway at Shoreham Hill (24th St. NW).
