An estimated 3,100 people are without power in northern Arlington after a squirrel climbed on a Dominion Power substation and disrupted electricity flow.

Le-Ha Anderson, a spokeswoman for Dominion Power, said most of the powerless neighborhoods and traffic signals run along Glebe Road, Lee Highway and North Culpepper Street.

She said power should be restored to all 3,100 customers late this morning.

Until that time, police will remain on the scene to direct traffic and pedestrians in the area.
