Maryland quarterback Perry Hills was named ACC rookie of the week for his performance in the Terrapins’ 36-27 win at Temple. Hills, a true freshman, completed 11 of 21 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns and had an 11-yard rushing score on a third-and-goal play after scooping up a low snap in shotgun formation.

Hills, the first true freshman to start at quarterback for Maryland in 13 years, was clutch in the second half, delivering a 39-yard pass to Marcus Leak on third-and-17 and a 38-yard completion to Stefon Diggs on third-and-11.

Also honored by the ACC were Virginia senior linebacker Steve Greer, who had 15 tackles and two sacks in the Cavaliers’ 17-16 win over Penn State and Virginia senior tackle Oday Aboushi who graded out at 92 percent and had 12 knockdown blocks.
