Lindsay Lohan and Washington: Not the perfect pair

What happens when Lindsay Lohan rubs elbows with a Hill staffer? Apparently a big scuffle in a New York hotel room. Christian LaBella, on staff with the office of Illinois Republican Rep. John Shimkus, was arrested early Sunday morning after a night of clubbing with Lohan allegedly turned into a physical fight in her hotel room. Charges against LaBella were quickly dropped, but he spent a few hours in jail, and both parties have filed harassment complaints against the other.

How LaBella ended up in the company of LiLo remains a mystery. An actor by the same name has a skimpy page on IMBD, but it's not clear if they are the same person. Shimkus' office has offered few words on LaBella other than to confirm that he's worked there for a few months and that they're not too happy about the incident.

Lohan's other experience with Washington folk -- when she attended the White House Correspondents' Association dinner as a guest of Fox News' Greta Van Susteren in April -- wasn't exactly drama-free. After missing her first flight to D.C. (she tweeted that she was working during her original flight, but TMZ reported that she just couldn't pull it together), Lohan eventually arrived. While not a train wreck, she wasn't a picnic, either. The Hill newspaper reported that Lohan got testy with her assistant, who had stepped on her floor-length gown during the escalator ride to the Washington Hilton's basement ballroom. She also was overheard, by a Hill source, whining about there being no place to light up a smoke in the historic hotel.

The New York Post later caught her sneaking away to smoke cigarettes in the hotel's bathroom. There, she saw an elderly bathroom attendant who she thought was much too old to be doing that job, and gave the woman a $100 bill, according to the Post. She also posed for pictures with former Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa.
