A Rockville man was sentenced to 40 years in prison for a sexual assault of a woman outside an Aspen Hill shopping mall.
Prosecutors said police captured Roberto Cruz Gonzales, then 19, after the victim bit his penis to escape. Blood and DNA were taken from the crime scene.
In October 2010, said police, Gonzales grabbed a woman from behind, tightened a rope around her neck and sexually assaulted her. Gonzales got away, but four months later, a police officer observed that he matched the culprit's description. Police said they found latex gloves Gonzales threw away and that his DNA matched that from the crime scene.
