Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned the United Nations about Iran trying to get a nuclear weapon, but Vice President Joe Biden countered by denouncing “bluster” and “loose talk” the Iranian nuclear program.

“They are a good way away,” Biden said during the vice presidential debate. “There is no weapon at this point.” He made the remark while discussing Iran’s pursuit of a nuclear weapon.

“All this loose talk about [how] all they have to do is get enough enriched uranium and then they have a weapon — not true,” Biden added.

His assessment of the Iranian nuclear program differs with Netanyahu’s. “Iran’s completed the first stage [of nuclear weapons development],” Netanyahu said at the UN. “Now they’re well into the second stage. And by next spring, at most by next summer, at current enrichment rates, they will have finished the medium enrichment and move on to the final stage. From there, it’s only a few months, possibly a few weeks, before they get enough enriched uranium for the first bomb.”

“I don’t know what world these guys are in,” Biden said, referring presumably to Romney and Ryan.
