A man was stabbed near a Howard University homecoming event early Saturday morning, according to authorities.

Police said an adult male, who was stabbed in the stomach at approximately 2:30 a.m., was found conscious and breathing at the 2600 block of Georgia Avenue NW.

It's unclear if the victim was affiliated with the school, according to police spokesman Anthony Clay.

No description of a suspect was available, and the investigation is ongoing, Clay said.
