A former CIA officer pleaded guilty Tuesday to disclosing the name of a covert CIA operative and admitted to revealing the role of another CIA employee in classified activities.

John Kiriakou, 48, of Arlington, admitted to revealing secret information about two CIA officers who were questioning terror suspects in Guantanamo.

Kiriakou and federal prosecutors agreed to a sentence of two and a half years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 25, 2013.

Kiriakou also admitted to lying to the CIA's Publications Review Board about a book he was writing, prosecutors said.

Kiriakou was a CIA intelligence officer between 1990 and 2004, serving at headquarters and in various classified overseas assignments.
