An independent probe by an anti-abortion group into Planned Parenthood clinics that have recently reported major injuries and even a death found that those clinics denied to callers that abortions are dangerous or that they had botched operations.
Live Action Advocate, a human rights group, made blind calls to several clinics that had recently made emergency calls for ambulances to care for injured patients. In one 911 call, the clinic asked that the ambulance come to the back of the building.
Another call by Live Action was to the Chicago Planned Parenthood clinic where 24-year-old Tonya Reaves received life-ending injuries in July. The receptionist said "no" when asked by the call if anyone had ever been hurt at the clinic. The call was made two months after Reaves died.
Live Action's video of their probe was provided to Secrets.
Live Action Advocate has investigated other cases of abuse and is eager to make President Obama's support for Planned Parenthood an issue in the last two weeks of the campaign.
Live Action's President Lila Rose said, "As President Obama campaigns for women voters, one of his top donors and champions, Planned Parenthood, is deceiving millions of American women about the services they provide, their history of abuse cover up, their radical abortion agenda, and just this past July, their unsafe and abusive practices that led to the death of Tonya Reaves, a 24-year-old Chicago woman."
Reaves' death was ruled an accident and Planned Parenthood expressed its sympathies.
