ROCKIN' 'RAISER

We've got the inside scoop on the District's hottest theme party, and we suggest you scrap your Saturday night plans to attend. Club 66 is turning the Barns at Wolf Trap (1635 Trap Road, Vienna) into the wild, wild West for the second annual ROCKtoberF?te fundraiser. The night features D.C.'s modern rock band Honor by August, heavy hors d'oeuvres, an open bar, dancing and a silent auction benefiting Wolf Trap Foundation Education Programs.

Haven't heard of Cub 66? It's a group of outgoing 20- and 30-somethings who all share a passion for the performing arts. Together, they support the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts and periodically plan fun educational events.

The cost is $66 for club members and $75 for nonmembers. Make your reservation today at brightestyoungthings.com. The party starts at 7 p.m.

BLACK CATS

Have you been thinking about adding a new four-legged friend to your home? This weekend is the perfect time, as the Washington Humane Society is waiving all adoption fees for any black or orange animal at its two locations (7319 Georgia Ave. NW and 1201 New York Ave. NE) through Oct. 30.

With this special Halloween promotion, the new owners, the animals and the WHS are all benefiting since the colder weather means adoption centers become overcrowded with animals in need of forever homes. Often thought of as bad luck, ghoulish black cats and dogs are usually the last to be adopted, but those silly superstitions leave loving animals in the cold.

All adoptions include spaying or neutering, applicable vaccinations, microchipping, deworming, heartworm testing (dogs) and FIV/FeLV testing. For more information, visit washhumane.org. Bring home a fuzzy friend today.
