A 47-year-old man was killed Friday after what police say was an incident of road rage.

Brian David Samf, residence unknown, was run over after he tried to attack another driver, Prince William County Police said.

Samf and an unidentified 38-year-old Manassas man were both driving westbound on Yates Ford Road in Fairfax County, when police said Samf began tailgating the driver of the truck.

Both cars stopped at a traffic light at Prince William Parkway, and Samf exited his car to confront the other driver.

He began to climb through a partially open passenger window and tried to fight the other driver. He fell and was run over when the truck started forward.

Samf was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
