HALLOWEEN IN PARIS

Skip the haunted houses tonight and celebrate Halloween in Paris at Napoleon's sophisticated Bistro and Lounge (1847 Columbia Road NW). The best part is, you don't have to travel overseas to celebrate this absinthe-inspired fete. Discover your inner artist while sipping colorful concoctions, posing for a caricature of your disguise, learning magic tricks that will be sure to puzzle other attendees and dancing under the spell of local DJs. You could win one free session of courses at the Alliance Francaise de Washington by wearing the French-est costume or a bottle of champagne with the scariest costume.

The party is sponsored by the Alliance Francaise de Washington, which provides French language learning experiences for Washingtonians.

The festivities begin at 8 p.m. and will cost $12.

ORANGE PLATES

Union Station's newest addition YO! Sushi will be doing more than serving fresh sushi Wednesday for daily commuters. It's invited children from across the District for a day of trick or treating Japanese style. But hold on kids, you don't have to wear a costume for this Halloween party. YO!'s team of sushi ninjas will be concocting some delicious Japanese sweets that will be sure to add variety to your trick or treat candy bag. And for those dining in, be sure to purchase an orange plate because you could receive a special prize -- like a YO! to go box, a California roll, matcha dorayaki or a glass of green tea redeemable on a future visit.

These ghoulish surprises will start circling on the conveyor belt at 11 a.m. and will last until 9 p.m.
