Connecticut GOP candidate McMahon obscures party affiliation in sample ballot

Here is the ballot that Connecticut Republican Senate candidate Linda McMahon is distributing today according to Politico’s Kate Nocera.  Not only does the ballot encourage people to vote for her and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama but it makes no mention that she is the Republican candidate. Instead it only cites her status as the candidate on the Independent Party.

Connecticut is one of the states that allows candidates to run representing more than one political party. Democratic candidate Chris Murphy is also running as the candidate of the Working Families Party.

Polls shows McMahon (wife of Vince McMahon of WWE fame) behind Murphy in the solidly Democratic state. The sample ballot is an apparent effort to obscure her connection to the GOP.
