Former Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon has been charged with violating her probation, according to court records, a part of a plea deal that forced her from office in 2010.

Dixon resigned after lying about gifts she recieved from a former boyfriend who was also a developer receiving tax breaks from Baltimore. She also stole $500 in gift cards that were meant as donation for needy families in the city.

Charges for the probation violation were filed Monday.

Dixon told The Baltimore Sun that she had fallen behind payments on the $45,000 she is required to contribute to charity as a part of her plea.

She must also complete 500 hours of community service as a part of her probation before judgment, which would allow her criminal record to be wiped clean of the theft and perjury convictions.
