A Prince George's County police officer was injured when the officer's unmarked police cruiser collided with another car in Clinton.

The unmarked cruiser was driving through the intersection of Branch Avenue and Dyson Road en route to a robbery at about 9 p.m. when the accident occurred, according to police.

The officer's cruiser had its lights and siren active as it tried to clear traffic before driving through the intersection, a police spokesman said.

The officer and two civilians in the other vehicle were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
