Killing in Lewisdale

Prince George's County police are investigating an overnight killing in the Lewisdale neighborhood.

About 1:30 a.m., police responded to Charleston Place and Drexel Street for the report of a shooting and found 20-year-old Edwin Alexander Lainez-Noyola in the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives are working to identify the suspect or suspects and motive in this case.

Pedestrian, motorcyclist killed

Two men were killed in Prince George's County Saturday afternoon when a motorcycle hit a pedestrian in Suitland.

Prince George's police said the accident occurred near the 3900 block of Branch Avenue, between Saint Barnabas and Iverson roads, just before 4 p.m. The driver of the motorcycle was identified as 40-year-old Jonathan Evans, of Lorton, Va. The pedestrian was identified as 64-year-old Harry Lee, of Clinton, Md.

Authorities said the accident occurred in the southbound lane of Branch Avenue. Lee, who was homeless, was pronounced dead at the scene, while Evans was taken to Southern Maryland Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said it appeared Lee was not in the crosswalk when he was crossing Branch Avenue.

Taco Bell manager shot

The manager of a fast-food restaurant was shot outside the business early Sunday.

Howard County police said two men confronted the manager of a Taco Bell in Columbia, Md., at about 1 a.m., and began shooting at him. The manager was struck several times and co-workers called 911.

The manager was flown by Medevac to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center where he was listed in critical condition.

Police say they do not know yet what motivated the shooting.
