Move over, Bradley Cooper, Channing Tatum has been chosen as People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive for 2012.
Stripping down to almost nothing in his hit film "Magic Mike" probably didn't hurt his cause in this competition.
"My first thought was, 'Y'all are messing with me,' " said Channing, who married actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum in 2009. "I told Jenna after we'd been in the bathtub washing our dogs because they'd gotten skunked. She was like, 'What?' "
The new Sexiest Man Alive will be keeping his chiseled physique for quite a while. He is currently training to play an Olympic athlete in "Foxcatcher," set to come out next year.
"I like to be lean. If I get too bulky, I can't move well, and I like to move," he says. "When I'm not training, I get really round and soft."
But the Alabama native isn't only concerned with his looks. The former stripper says he's looking forward to starting a family with Jenna soon.
"I'm ready; I think she's ready," the 32-year-old says. "The first number that pops into my head is three, but I just want one to be healthy and then we'll see where we go after that."
And while Jenna is excited about her man's new title, she tells People that there is much more to the actor. "People know him to be fun and sexy, but they don't know how emotionally deep and spiritually open he is," Jenna, 31, said. "He is such an open-hearted person; what you see is what you get."
Elizabeth Banks and her husband, Max Handelman, recently welcomed their second son, Magnus Mitchell Handelman, she announced on her website Wednesday.
"As 2012 winds down and Thanksgiving approaches, I have much for which to be thankful -- personal, professional, and Presidential. However, nothing can match the joy and excitement my husband and I felt when we recently welcomed our second baby boy," the "Hunger Games" star wrote.
"Like Felix, Magnus was born via gestational surrogate. This experience has exceeded all expectations, taught us a great deal about generosity and gratitude, and established a relationship that will last a lifetime," she added.
The "30 Rock" actress has been open in the past about her struggle to conceive and their choice to use a surrogate for their first son.
